This page last modified:  Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 11:15 AM

The Babe Ruth League National Umpires Association was formed to assist local baseball and softball leagues in improving the quality of umpiring.

The umpiring crews for each district, state, province, region or territory tournament as well as each Babe Ruth World Series are made up of members from the Association.

The initial 200 member organization founded in 1982 has grown to over 4,300 during the last decade.

Charlie Lee from Hamilton, New Jersey currently serves as the Babe Ruth Baseball National Umpire Consultant and Wayne Beasley from Garner, North Carolina serves as Babe Ruth Softball National Umpire Consultant.  Lee and Beasley have many years of umpiring experience and are widely respected throughout the Babe Ruth community.

Members are serviced with Rules and Regulations for each division, monthly newsletters, a regular column “Balls & Strikes” by Marty Springstead, Chief Supervisor of American League Umpires, in the BULLPEN, Official Publication of Babe Ruth League and continuous communication and support from the Babe Ruth League Headquarters staff.

Click here to apply online for membership and umpire certification in baseball, softball or both.
